I came.
I came to.
I came to believe.
There's no
problem that can't be made worse by picking up a drink.
Religion is
for people who're afraid they're going to hell
and Spirituality is for people who've already been there.
The darkest
hour is only sixty minutes long.
Fear is the
absence of faith.
It's the club
with the highest dues in the world.
I need all
the help I can give.
The only way
to get to the other side of something is by going through it.
I have a deep
and abiding faith. . . that comes and goes.
The greatest
gift I can give someone is my full attention.
Sobriety didn't
open the gates of Heaven for me to let me in,
but it sure opened the gates of Hell to let me out.
You attract
what you are, not what you want.
I may have
another drink in me but I sure don't have another recovery.
I haven't been
brought this far to be dropped.
The Spiritual
part of recovery is like the wet part of the ocean.
Take the action
and turn over the results.
Recovery is
like trying to drown and swim at the same time.
Put a little
gratitude in your attitude.
No one floats
into recovery on the wings of victory.
There are enough
drunks in the world, they certainly won't miss me.
We were powerless
over alcohol and our wives had become unmanageable.
If you decide
sobriety isn't for you your misery will be cheerfully refunded.
